Rylee Rose, CPDT-KA, FDM

As a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) and Family Dog Mediator (FDM), Rylee brings over a decade of experience working with dogs throughout various industries. Her journey started working in shelters and kennels where she gained experience handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments.

Rylee also has experience working in canine rehabilitation, which highlighted the vital connection between a dog’s physical health and their behavior. In addition to being a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and Family Dog Mediator, Rylee continues to expand her knowledge to stay up-to-date on modern training techniques. She has completed Michael Shikashio’s Aggression in Dogs Master Course and actively seeks ongoing education from courses and books published by well accomplished trainers.

When working with her clients, Rylee’s goals are to make training fun so the dog learns that listening is fun!Rylee follows LIMA (least intrusive, minimally aversive) guidelines while training, meaning the dog learns primarily through positive reinforcement, keeping the dog successful the majority of the time. Wouldn’t you enjoy learning (and learn faster) if your learning environment was set up so you could consistently make the right choices, AND you are rewarded for those choices? Same goes for our dogs! In addition to LIMA guidelines, Rylee also emphasizes the need to look at the entire picture of the dog she’s working with – previous learning, their environment, their genetics, and their internal self to figure out WHY the problem behaviors are occurring. If one aspect is lacking, part of the training plan is to always figure out how to get each of these factors in balance in order to solve the problem brought to her by her client.

Beyond Rylee’s work with dogs, she also enjoys training her cat! Training her cat has emphasized the value of patience and consistency. If the cat can do it, so can your dog! In her free time, she also enjoys hiking with her dog.

Committed to continual growth and education, Rylee remains dedicated to staying updated on the latest advancements in the field of dog training, always striving to provide the highest standard of care and expertise to both dogs and their devoted owners.
